El vocablo "Teología" viene del griego "Theos" = "Logos" = palabra, discurso, ciencia. Luego, teología significa etimológicamente: "Hablar de Dios, dar cuentas de Dios o de dioses o de cosas divinas". Los teólogos han definido la teología de varias formas: Para M. Pearlman "La teología o doctrina se puede describir como la ciencia que trata de nuestro conocimiento de Dios y de las relaciones del creador con el hombre". Para A. Strong la teología "es la ciencia de Dios y de las relaciones entre Dios y el universo". W. Conner definió la doctrina cristiana como "esa línea del estudio teológico que se propone aclarar las varias doctrinas del cristianismo en su significación particular y en sus relaciones la una con la otra. "

INTRODUCCIÓN A LA BIBLIA
La Biblia es el libro por antonomasia. No se trata solamente de un libro humano, sino es más bien una obra humano-divina, la cual es necesaria y pertinente en toda época. Es la "Palabra" que Dios entregó a la humanidad para enseñar la vida con Dios y el camino que se ha de seguir para ir al cielo. Por tanto si este libro es trascendente para el hombre, luego se espera que el ser humano pueda acercarse a él, abrir sus páginas y entender el mensaje de la Biblia.
Una introducción a la Biblia es necesaria porque sin una preparación conveniente, la Biblia no se comprende, por lo menos no se comprende en la forma y la plenitud esperada. Las diversas épocas y culturas en que son escritos los diversos libros, las lejanas costumbres...
